Hamid Peseschkian, M.D., D.M., D.Med.Sc.

(Wiesbaden, Germany)

Born in 1962 in Wiesbaden, Germany. He has received a M.D. (1987) and a Doctor of Medicine (1988) both from the University of Mainz, and a D.Sc. (Doctor of Medical Sciences, 1999) from the Bekhterev Psychoneurological Scientific Research Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia. Dr. Peseschkian is a German Board-certified psychiatrist, neurologist, and psychotherapist.

From 1991 – 1999 residence in Russia: Head of Mental Health Services at the American Medical Center in Moscow. Founding of 25 local and regional Centers for Psychotherapy and Family Therapy in Russia and the former USSR. Visiting lecturer at medical schools in Russia.

Current Positions:

  • Managing Director of the Wiesbaden Academy of Psychotherapy (WIAP) and its polyclinic, one of the TOP 5 state-licensed postgraduate institutes for psychotherapy in Germany
  • Private Practice for Psychotherapy.
  • Director and Trainer of the Institute of Management Training (IMT)
  • Vice President, German Association for Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (GAPP/DFT)
  • Board of Directors, World Association for Positive Psychotherapy (WAPP)
  • Visiting Professor, Northern State Medical University (Arkhangelsk, Russia), UTEPSA University (Santa Cruz, Bolivia), Institute of Positive Psychotherapie (Moscow, Russia)


Dr. Peseschkian has two children (* 1995, *1997) and lives in Mainz, Germany.
